Featuring Female Graffiti Artist Icon Lady Pink
SSB is proud to support the screening of Alexandra Henry’s documentary STREET HEROINES at the Museum of Graffiti.
The Museum of Graffiti celebrates female street artists worldwide–a little-known fixture of the social art community transforming urban landscapes in colorful, meaningful ways–with the premiere of the critically-acclaimed documentary STREET HEROINES.
Produced and directed by Valiant Pictures’ Alexandra Henry, the film will premiere Sunday, April 25, as part of an introspective exhibit celebrating NYC artist and icon Lady Pink, who is featured in the film. This exhibit devoted to the artist, Lady Pink: Graffiti HerStory, is currently on display, showcasing the artistic pioneer’s work from the late 1970s onward.
The event, made possible with the support of sponsor Jim Beam, will be held outdoors, with social distancing strictly enforced.
Whether visually protesting socio-political injustices or spreading messages of empathy, STREET HEROINES’ featured artists use creativity to persevere amidst social ignorance and find their own voices in the male-dominated world of graffiti and street art. The Street Heroines Short Documentary, featuring Brazilian street artist Magrela, was selected as a 2019 finalist for the STARZ & The WrapWomen short documentary contest for female filmmakers.
