ABOUT LYDIA LUNCH’S SO REAL IT HURTS
Lydia Lunch is passionate, confrontational and bold. Whether attacking the patriarchy and their pornographic war mongering, turning the sexual into the political, or whispering a love song to the brokenhearted, her fierce energy and uncompromising drive to create artistry out of pain lend testament to her warrior nature.
The exhibition included the photography series The War Is Never Over; the installation You Are Not Safe In Your Own Home; ephemera, posters and memorabilia; and live events throughout the show including a culminating performance of Lunch’s 1990 classic spoken word piece, Conspiracy of Women, reissued on vinyl by DJ Nicolas Jaar.
