Hola New Mexico! We’re delighted to spread the word about The Spirit Coalescent, a multi-sensory experience curated by innovative indigenous artists. A collaboration combining original instrumental compositions by the Delbert Anderson Trio, the poetry of James Pakootas, choreography by Maura Garcia set against a backdrop of eight giant projections of artworks that combine painting by Karen Ellsbury with photography by Patrick Hazen, this multi-media performance illuminates the bond between the human experience and nature and how we learn our role and heal from the elements around us.

Featuring: Delbert Anderson, Nicholas Lucero, Mike Mccluhan, James Pakootas, Maura Garcia, Karen Ellsbury, Patrick Hazen.

Anderson was selected to perform on PBS’ New Year’s presentation, United In Song: Celebrating the American Dream; he was appointed to the New Mexico Arts Commission; was featured in Jazz Times and Grammy magazine; and is recording Don Cherry Tribute Album through a Diné musical lens that brings together musicians Christopher Beaty, Mali Obomsawin, Nicholas Lucero, Robert Muller, Pura Fe, Julia Keefe, James Pakootas and Alexandria Holiday for the Lions with Wings label out of Palo Alto, California.
