More than 500 happy people attended the opening of Pyramid Pioneers in honor of “We Started A Nightclub”—the largest crowd the gallery had seen yet. The joy of being together and showcasing the performances by Pyramid alumni and others influenced by its theatrical, punk and “anti-drag,” A Pyramid Homecoming at Baker Falls was a sell out and reaffirmed that the artistry and spirit sparked by the club in the early 80s is alive and well and thriving now. Ann Magnuson’ finale brought the house down as she and the entire audience acknowledged the Pyramid angels no longer with us by singing “Age of Aquarius” together, lifting our spirits and letting the sunshine in on all of us.
