YEAR ONE: a Speculative Solidarities Salon with Elæ Moss

Elae Moss photograph
Join Artist-researcher Elæ Moss as they present a special salon around their ongoing Speculative Solidarities project, inviting local residents to collectively envision an alternate future timeline, starting now: with YEAR ONE. For the Year One project, Moss is designing a series of programs sited as local, adaptable Field Stations, which engage localities in conversation around the necessary skills, tools, strategies, materials, and collective actions specific to building a sustainable future in their landscape. In our salon, we’ll talk about the potential for the Year One Field Station hub as a vital, mobile resource supporting communities in adapting to the shifting realities of the post-capitalocene, and the ecological futures we’ve already begun to live in. Salon guests will be invited to practice somatic and language-based exercises for re/orientation towards this alternative, already vibrant timeline. A Performance with Singer/Songwriter Amy Hills

Amy Hills at Gleasons
Amy presents music and words from The History of You and Me, her new, twelve-song collection and corresponding autobiographical memoir. Coming out of the “Antifolk” music community in the East Village in the early 2000s, Amy’s performance resonates with her evolution from broke and single in NYC to middle-class mom—from feeling untethered to finding a way to tap back into her creative being. For location and directions RVSP to info@someseriousbusiness.org.
